Ingredients

  • 1 medium-size spaghetti squash, especially organic as it is healthier.
  • 1–2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to grill spaghetti squash

  1. Divide spaghetti squash in two. You will definitely be calling on your strong arm and sharp knife here as they are not always easy to cut.
  2. Remove the seeds and bin them.
  3. Add two tablespoons of butter to each half of the spaghetti squash and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  4. Put the spaghetti squash you have cut side up to indirect heat of 300°.
  5. Close the lid and cook for about 30–35 minutes.
  6. Use a fork to test the squash for tenderness. Squash will shred easily when pierced if it is cooked through.
  7. Remove squash from the grill or smoker and place on a sheet pan.
  8. You can then shred with a kitchen fork.
  9. If you prefer, you can add parmesan cheese and fresh herbs as toppings. You may also top with diced tomatoes, Alfredo or marinara sauce.

There is no universal time as to how long it would take to cook your spaghetti squash. However, on average, smoking your spaghetti squash over indirect heat, which is about 400 – 450˚F should take 25 minutes.
