The Weber Q1000 is the smallest Weber gas grill since it comes with just 189 square inches of cooking surface and a burner. This portable unit was originally known as the Baby Q, and it was a pretty big deal when it was first introduced by the brand. In this Weber Q1000 review, we will consider some of the best features of this product.

As with all the products in the Q series of grills from Weber, the Weber Q1000 is designed with a coated, cast aluminum housing that improves its durability. It also features porcelain-coated steel cooking grates, one-touch electric ignition, detachable grease pans, and disposable propane cylinders.

With an intelligent design and good performance, the Weber Q1000 is one of the best tabletop grills available right now.

Overall Performance and Functions

The Weber Q1000 is an excellent device for grilling. The overall construction is good, and it includes a lid made from cast aluminum. This material is not only solid but also ensures some of the best heat retention in its class.

Igniting the burner is a breeze since all you need to do is press a button. Power output is decent on this unit and will allow you to grill large steaks and a few burgers.

The grill cart on this unit is durable and can be folded. It is designed with the ability to slide in from the front and will stay in place once locked. The design makes it very easy to transport as well.

Surface cooking area

Weber Q1000 Review

The Weber Q1000 is a single burner grill. To that end, it is not a big option. This is reflected in the 189 sq. inches of cooking area.

While this is relatively small, it is definitely sufficient for your simple grilling requirements. This is a similar cooking space offered by more expensive models on the market. With this cooking area, you should comfortably cook up to four medium-sized steaks.

However, the drawback here is that it isn’t great as a charcoal grill, instead used best with a propane tank.

Fuel

This model is a propane grill. Therefore it needs a constant stream of propane for the flame to continue burning.

The Weber Q1000 is a portable grill that is designed with just one steel burner. While it has just one burner, this comes with a capacity of up to 8500 BTU. This is often a sufficient temperature for your regular grilling needs. However, we have seen other models in this price range that offer more power. It would have been great if this unit offered a higher temperature range.

Ease of Use

You will find this quite easy to use. The grates are durable and easy to clean since they are made of high-grade material and coating. They are pretty easy to clean up as all residual dirt or contaminants slide right off.

One thing that puts off many of buyers is the difficulty of assembling your grill. Well, you don’t have to worry about that here. The Weber Q1000 comes pre-assembled right out of the box. Therefore, all you need to do is get your ingredients ready and get to grilling in a jiffy.

Part of the appeal lies in the side-table design. This design ensures that it is easy for you to store your cooking tools and smaller ingredients.

Another feature that makes this very easy to use is the single-button ignition system. You don’t have to worry about starting a fire since you can get right to work with the push of a button. Once the flame has been started, all you need is to put your food into the grill, choose the strength of the flame via the control knob, and cook your food.

Assembly

The Weber Q1000 is portable and lightweight – two factors that will make it easy for most people to assemble the unit.

Interestingly, most parts of the unit are already assembled. So all you’ll need is to just attach the source of fuel and get to grilling. While that might seem intimidating, there isn’t much to worry about since the manufacturer has included a clear instruction guide to help you.

To use the grill, you need to connect the propane hose to the propane cylinder. Once that is in place, you should preheat the grill for around ten minutes. Afterward, you can use the one-touch ignition button to get the flame started.

Safety Features

The Weber Q1000 is a basic grill, and because of that, it does not come with some of the features found in more sophisticated units. For example, one benefit that several other units enjoyed is the WIFI and App connectivity – however that is missing here.

Nevertheless, one of the safety features that it has is the solid, stable build. With this build, it is not easy for the unit to be toppled.

Portability

The portability of this model is one of its best features. It is a compact, lightweight grill that offers some really good portability. It weighs just 29 pounds, which means that you can move it from one point to the other without any hassle.

It measures 27 x 16.5 x 14.5 inches when the legs are open. Its’ portability comes in very handy when you want a grill to take on a picnic or camping. The lightweight nature allows one person to carry it around.

In addition, Weber has included a pair of handles built into the frame; thus, it is easy to carry the grill from place to place.

Maintenance

While the Weber Q1000 is made of high-quality materials (more about that in the section below), it is important that you take steps to maintain the unit. One of the best things that you can do is to regularly clean the product. Well, Weber has made one aspect of cleaning easy for you. The grates are porcelain-coated. This not only makes the grates resistant to rust, but it also means that you can easily clean off any grease or dirt on the grates.

Washing is easy. After cooking, you simply let the grates cool and then remove them to wash with soapy water. The plate can be detached into two parts, thus making it easier for you to clean.

The inside part of the grill is also easy to clean. There is an aluminum container that lies beneath the grill that can be detached and cleaned to maximum cleanliness.

One of the best things about this product is the sheer number of accessories that are available on the market. There is almost no limit to what you can find. For example, you can choose different griddles, and covers and these would still be compatible with the unit. The skillet, for instance, is compatible with all the grills in the Q series of products from Weber.

Durability

Weber Q1000 Review

When choosing a grill, durability is one of the most important features that you need to keep in mind. After all, you do not want a product that will require replacement after a couple of months. How does the Weber Q1000 fare in this regard?

Our testing and reviews from others indicate that this is a solidly built grill. As we pointed out earlier, the body is made of heavy-duty aluminum. This material confers a measure of strength and durability. It has a cast aluminum lid that improves durability. This feature enhances heat retention as well.

All of that grease and liquid make any grill susceptible to corrosion. However, there is no need to worry about the Weber Q1000 in this regard. It is design with porcelain-coated cast-iron grates. Therefore, you can cook for several years without worrying about corrosion and rust seeping into your food.

One of the most important fixtures, as this is a propane grill, is the propane adapter hose. The benefit of this feature is that it lets you to use a variety of propane tanks to grill.

However, if there is any need for replacements or repairs, then you can rest assured that you are covered y the warranty.
